I am truly impressed with the genuine commitment by Timolin Cole-Augustus and Casey Cole to provide this extraordinary opportunity for music students in the School District of Palm Beach County. The twins' desire to make music accessible to all students is commendable. Timolin and Casey have fostered their father's world-renowned passion for music into an important and very worthwhile cause.
Current research reveals that students who participate in the arts, especially music, perform better in reading, math, and science. The arts bring to students a real-world connection that integrates learning using the whole brain approach. Whether it's visual or performing, the arts are a critical link to a well-rounded educational experience.
The School District of Palm Beach County is a leader in the effort to provide equitable and high quality arts education for all students. The integration of music and the arts throughout the curriculum is an important part of the Districts' Arts Education Strategic Plan.
I am honored to work with such a forward-thinking organization as the Nat King Cole Generation Hope Foundation. There are countless students who will benefit from the generosity of the foundation. Timolin and Casey, your father's legacy will live on through all of the children that will be touched through this important work.
Sincerely,
Dr. Tom Pearson
Arts Education Administrator
